Eddie Murphy has been confirmed to host the 84th Academy Awards in February of 2012. It has been 20 years since Eddie has done any stand up. He is currently starring in the up-coming movie Tower Heist, Directed by Brett Ratner. Brett Ratner is reported to be producing the Awards as well.
The last African-American to host the Oscars was Chris Rock in 2004. Whoopi Goldberg has hosted four Oscars with her last being in 2001.
I will definitely be watching the Oscars this year!!!!!!
