Brandy breaks engagement to Ryan Press

Well....there goes the bride??  Brandy has put her wedding plans with Ryan Press on indefinite hold.


Over the last couple of weeks, whispers circulated that Brandy and Ryan had called off their
engagement. Brandy hasn't been posting cute couple pics, and people were curious when he wasn’t present for Brandy’s 35th birthday party earlier this month. As it turns out, he was there, but he avoided cameras.

Unfortunately, it seems that the speculations have been confirmed. After Brandy attended the NAACP’s non-televised ceremony without her ring, a source close to the couple told TheYBF.com that the wedding is off–at least for now. Brandy and Ryan supposedly decided to take some time apart after they moved in together.

Reportedly the time apart is supposed to help them re-evaluate their relationship and whether they actually should get married. They haven’t completely ruled out the possibility of getting back together, but there’s word that Ryan was set up on a date recently.



Brandy and Ryan are supposedly are currently on good terms since he is still her manager.



Neither Brandy nor Ryan have commented on the status of their relationship.

NO!!!! Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Call it Quits!

Word on the street is that Paula Patton & Robin Thicke’s marriage may be in trouble. Apparently the couple have been growing apart due to their busy work schedules which means that they hardly see each other, and, Paula is worried about Robin’s wandering eye and jumpoffs!

The season is winding down and things haven’t gone so great in Detroit. The Pistons are just waiting to be eliminated from playoff contention for the fourth straight season.  But don’t tell that to Shannon Sailes, or as he’s better known to The Palace at Auburn Hills faithful: The Dancing Usher. Since last season, Sailes has made a name for himself by busting out some pretty sharp dancing moves during the Dance Cam segment during timeouts at Pistons home games.

Chris Brown & Rihanna Call It Quits....Again!

Chris Brown and Rihanna have called it quits. Chris did an interview on LA’s Power 106 radio station today that’s set to air on April 1 and he was asked point blank if he’s still dating Rihanna? Chris admitted: “Uh, no — that’s the short answer.”

What doesn’t make sense is that during the interview Chris revealed that he wrote a new song for Rihanna on his upcoming album. He said:

“I wrote a song for her called ‘Put It Up’ that we did together,” he said. “It’s still in the pot of songs we have to pick from. It may or may not make it, but you know, because she’s already on it, it’s a strong possibility.”

Chris even talked about their dating life and how he keeps things fresh. He added:

“It’s still like we’re kids. I try not to be too grown and be like, ‘Lets have candlelight dinner every night.’ I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine.”

Chris talks about the last time they saw each other:

“I plead the 5th. You know I didn’t lie to you man, I just didn’t tell the truth. Man it has been a minute though, cuz I haven’t had a chance to go out there on the tour yet. Cuz i’ve been working, but I seen her right before she went out.”

Whether they are in love:

“Huh? I’m a lover, man. Definitely a lover.”

I am betting there is more to see regarding this one...

Pitbull Gets Big Gig Because JLO Too Big Of a Diva!

Jennifer Lopez was in talks to perform at the opening ceremony of India’s Premier League cricket tournament, but The New York Post reports that JLO's demands were so out of control that the deal fell through. A source told the paper that her manager, Benny Medina, asked for a private plane as well as numerous hotel rooms for her entourage, which included stylists, general peons and a personal chef.
Officials at the Pepsi IPL walked away from that deal and instead went for Miami’s Pitbull for next Tuesday’s event, which will also feature Bollywood stars. A rep for J.Lo said the reason she didn’t perform in India was a scheduling issue.

President Obama Appoints First Woman To Head The Secret Service

President Obama has just made history....again!!!!
According to the White House, the Commander-in-Chief appointed Julia A. Pierson, a veteran U.S. Secret Service agent, as the first female director of the agency in charge of protecting the president and his family.
 “Over her 30 years of experience with the Secret Service, Julia has consistently exemplified the spirit and dedication the men and women of the service demonstrate every day,” Obama said in a statement. “Julia is eminently qualified to lead the agency that not only safeguards Americans at major events and secures our financial system, but also protects our leaders and our first families, including my own.”
The President’s decision comes after former Secret Service director, Mark Sullivan, announced his retirement last month. During Sullivan’s tenure, the agency became the center of a prostitution scandal in Cartagena, Colombia last year.
With 30 years of experience under her belt, Obama seems very confident in Pierson’s ability to lead the service. “Julia has had an exemplary career, and I know these experiences will guide her as she takes on this new challenge to lead the impressive men and women of this important agency,” he said.

UPDATE: Kordell & Porsha Release A Statement On Divorce

Kordell Stewart has finally released an official statement to Hip Hollywood regarding the divorce from his wife Porsha Stewart. 

Soon after Kordell released his statement, Porsha released her own statement through her rep saying she is “disappointed about her husband’s recent filing for divorce,” and revealed she learned of the divorce from a website. TMZ reports the rep says Porsha had held off on filing for divorce papers herself … because she was committed to the marriage. She says Kordell had promised to work on the marriage with her.

WHAT!!!!! Kordell Stewart Files For Divorce!

Word on the street is that Kordell Stewart has filed for divorce. TMZ has learned that the former NFLer filed for divorce on March 22. The couple married on May 21, 2011 and have no children together. Stewart has a son from a previous relationship.
Rumor has it that Porsha quit her role on the ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’, because Kordell is “not allowing” her to return for a second season.

Tiny does it again!!!!  Tameka "Tiny Harris slipped up and revealed the sex of Tamar's baby. Tiny recently sat down with HipHollywood, and when asked what she knew about the baby, slipped up and revealed that Tamar and Vince are expecting a little boy.

I know everything about this baby. And I know…I was gonna say what it was. I know the baby’s name. Of course I know what it is, and I’ve seen HIS little face. She has a 4D picture…Oh.

SWV Has A Reality Show Coming Out!

It looks like R&B group SWV has been bit by the reality bug too!!!  Cheryl “Coko” Clemons, Leanne “LeLee” Lyons, and Tamara “Taj” George, have reportedly begun taping a reality series for WE tv.
“SWV apparently shot the pilot for their reality series with eOne Entertainment last fall. The name of the show and premiere date have not yet been announced,” according to AlwaysAList.com.
SWV will open up to audiences, sharing details about the ladies’ personal lives, discussing the reason why the group separated, and reportedly trying to find their way back at the top of the music charts.
Coko, LeLee, and Taj will join other WE popular shows, such as, “Braxton Family Values” and “Mary Mary,” which also showcase talented artists.
Sisters With Voices, appeared on BET’s “Black Girls Rock” last fall. The trio also released a studio album, I Missed Us last year. Coko recently tweeted that SWV will hit the stage in 10 days in London alongside other ’90’s groups like Jodeci, Changing Faces, Blackstreet, and Dru Hill.

Former Destiny’s Child Member LaTavia Roberson Is Expecting Her First Child

Original Destiny’s Child’s member LaTavia Roberson has a lot to look forward to these days. She’s expecting her first child, working on a new reality series, and if the rumors are true, she’s gearing up to release a tell-all memoir.
We haven’t heard much about her love life since her days of dating Jagged Edge member Brandon Casey, but according to a press release her child’s father is a “well-known Atlanta producer.” And ironically her new bundle of joy is due on September 4th, Beyonce’s birthday.  hmmmm.....

The YBF reports that LaTavia plans to share details about her pregnancy and life after Destiny’s Child in her new show, set to be produced by reality television producer Carlos King.
King, who has produced shows like the Real Housewives of Atlanta and Real Housewives of New Jersey, said he’s looking forward to Roberson finally opening up about her story.
“I’m excited to work with LaTavia to effectively tell her story on television. This is her first time speaking out about her past,” King said. “This woman has endured more than the public even realizes, and once they hear half of it, they will be in awe. She is a true survivor!”

The press release also states:
Production plans include developing a reality show documenting Latavia’s pregnancy, the ups and downs of her relationship with her child’s father and her past battle with molestation, alcoholism and jail time. Her struggles to distance herself from the negativity surrounding her untimely departure from Destiny’s Child, still follow her, but LaTavia is determined to clear the air once and for all. Future plans also include returning to the studio to showcase her voice for the first time as a solo artist and the final release of her highly anticipated “tell all” memoir due later this year!

Voicemails from Manti Te'O's "Girlfriend" Released

The saga continues! Just when you thought things couldn't get any messier, Manti Te'o's attorney has surfaced with voicemail recordings of Manti's supposed girlfriend, Lennay Kekua. Take a listen:



The voice on the other end was, in fact, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo speaking in a falsetto voice! Wow. It's still unclear whether Manti was in on this hoax, and if so, how much he knew.

RHOA's Phaedra is Pregnant with 2nd Baby

Congratulations! RHOA star and entertainment attorney Phaedra Parks has announced that she is pregnant with her second child!

Phaedra and her husband Apollo Nida were married in 2009 and welcomed their first son, Aiden, a year later. Parks and family are expecting the baby to arrive later next year but haven't shared a due date.

We really hope this isn't like last time! During her last pregnancy Phaedra kept telling stories about how far along she was. Not cute boo!

Congrats Phaedra and Apollo! You will surely have a beautiful baby. 

RUMOR: Did Brandy Get Engaged??

Congrats are in order! Word on the street is that Brandy Norwood is headed for the aisle! Sources are reporting that Ryan Press, a music exec and her long term boyfriend, quietly proposed to Brandy on Christmas Day.

If this is indeed true, Brandy deserves it! She's had an excellent year with a successful album. This would just be the icing on the cake.

President Obama Calls Tom Joyner Morning Show, Says ‘Thank You’

President Barack Obama called in to the Tom Joyner Morning Show today to thank Tom and his staff for their efforts to help him get his message out to the masses. In addition to thanking Tom, the President explained the fiscal cliff, how it affects the African American community, and how everyone can help.
He also defended Susan Rice and expressed his disdain for the questions of her integrity. President Obama also said that, unlike winning an NBA championship, his reelection did not warrant a trip to Disneyland; he was work to do.

Congrats! Eve Is Preggers!

Rapper slash actress, Eve is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Maximillion Cooper. According to The Black Health Zone, Eve and boyfriend are expecting their first child together. A source close to Eve says that she is a “little more than three months” pregnant. This bambino will obviously be Eve’s first, but Max’s fifth.

In an interview with Essence earlier this year, Eve gushed over being “really, really happy” with Max and she’s even left the States behind and moved to London–where Max is from.  So it seems Eve is on her way to having it all! Eve is proving that women can in fact have it all, great careers, love, happiness, and families.

New Reality Show: The Sisterhood Starring Preachers’ Wives

Reality TV has no boundaries!  Premiering on January 1st a new show starring some of preacher's wives from churches in the Atlanta area - Delana, Christina, Ivy, Tara and Domonique.  Deciding on the name The Sisterhood,TLC  is bringing the pulpit drama into your home!  


We’re not exactly sure what message  this show is hoping to convey. First Ladies:  They can be just as materialistic, catty and filled with drama as all the other reality show divas? If nothing else, the show is sure to give a few congregations something to talk about.

Mary J. Blige & Husband Sued Over $2.2 Million Loan

Mary J. Blige and her husband Kendu Isaacs were hit with a lawsuit for defaulting on $2.2 million bank loan.
According to court documents filed in New York State Supreme Court, Signature Bank is aiming to recover the original loan amount plus $58,000 in interest from the 41-year-old singer.
The suit stems from an advance the Grammy-winning singer took out in October 2011 and allegedly failed to pay back by the agreed-upon deadline of July 2012.

This is not the first time Mary has had money woes, last May,TD Bank filed a similar suit against her charity, the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN) for allegedly failing to pay back the advance it loaned the organization.

Keyshia Cole Responds To Sex Pic

 Keyshia Cole may have released a new album this week, but she is in headlines for an attack on her personal life. A picture depicting a woman, allegedly Keyshia, performing fellatio is circulating Twitter. KC has taken to the social media outlet to defend herself.




She tweeted:
"I've shared extremely a lot of my life with the world, with people who love me and people who H8, but jus like fam, people never tell u how much they love u,"

As the scandal spread, KC didn't back down. She tweeted again....
