Nelson Mandela's Clothing Line Makes its Fashion Debut
Did you know that Nelson Mandela has a clothing line? Neither did we! Mandela's clothing line (which was created to raise funds for AIDS/HIV awareness) made its debut last Sunday at the South African Fashion Week!
The line, named 46664 afer Mandela's ID number in jail, is inspired by many of the shirts that the former president wore during his time in office. The fabrics are also inspired by traditional South African prints which result in a beautiful and vibrant line. You can layer the fabrics together for a funky look or you can wear an individual item as a statement piece!
This fashion line was developed as a way to continue raising money outside of the usual star-studded concerts thrown by Mandela's foundation. 7 to 9 percent of the proceeds from this line will go towards Mandela's cause to raise awareness of HIV & AIDS in South Africa.
Check out some of the looks from the show:
We are LOVING the looks from the fashion show and cannot wait for this to become available to the public! This is HOT fashion for a GREAT cause!!!
