Say Goodbye to Arista, Jive, and J Records!
The record labels that brought you artists like Alicia Keys, R.Kelly, and Outkast are being dissolved. RCA, the parent company of Arista, Jive, and J Records has announced that it will terminate these record labels to create one company that focuses solely on Rock 'n' Roll music.
This is a huge deal for artists that are still on any one of these labels because it will ultimately leave them homeless! Music groups like Outkast may not have a hard time getting scooped up by other labels but some of the lesser-known musicians will struggle for longer or may never get another deal again.
RCA reps have mentioned that its recent decision to become more rock-focused is due to the major success of it more rock-oriented artists.
What do you think of this switch-up? We really hope that the non-rock musicians will find another great company to work with so that they don't lose the momentum of their careers.
