91 Medical Professionals Arrested Over $300 Million Medicare Fraud

On Wednesday afternoon Attorney General Eric Holder announced that authorities just completed the largest amount of arrests on record for offenses totaling to $300 Million in 8 cities.

Apparently, several medical professionals (doctors, nurses, etc) were arrested under suspicion of money laundering and kickback schemes.

What is a kickback scheme? It's when you agree to do contractual business with a company based on a bribe, not out of fairness or eligibility. In this instance, doctors may have been given financial incentives to prescribe certain medications to their patients.

The arrests took place in Baton Rouge, Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, Los Angeles and Miami.

Seriously? How disgusting is that! We can't even trust that doctors and nurses are doing their jobs ethically! There are people that actually NEED Medicare and are losing resources because of these greedy people.
