Oprah Winfrey to take CEO role at OWN
Oprah will be taking on the CEO role of OWN, her cable network according to a source who confirmed a Wednesday report in the Wall Street Journal.
Erik Logan and Sheri Salata, the current presidents of Harpo Studios, the TV unit of Winfrey's Harpo Productions, are expected to take over as presidents of the Discovery Communications joint venture network.
Oprah is already a chairman, and will also serve as chief creative officer of the network, whose early ratings were below expectations.
The Journal said that Oprah's move shows her desire to take full creative and operational control of the channel after the end of her syndicated talk show in May.
Good move Oprah!
