(Late) Top 5 Looks of BET Awards

Usually the Urban Cafe LOVES to watch BET Awards show to see what's hot in urban fashion. I have to admit that I am super disappointed in the celeb style at this year's award show. Most celebrities rocked all black...at a SUMMER awards show!


The pickings were slim but here's who we liked:

5. CHRIS BROWN

 

Chris's outfit at the show wasn't that unique but Chris's swag was so nice that he looked great! Chris won several awards and performed a whole BUNCH of times, leaving the audience asking "Rihanna who?" THIS is the kind of confidence you need to make any outfit look fly.




4. MARSHA AMBROSIUS

Is the outfit amazing? No. Is it seasonally appropriate? YES! The other performers seemed to miss this memo. Marsha kept her red carpet look chill, light, and summery…PERFECT for an urban awards show in the summertime!



3. KERI HILSON

Keri stayed true to her colorful, eclectic style with a fuschia sweetheart top and black harem pants. The green pendant necklace looked gorgeous on her skin! Keri is a true trend setter, these colors look wonderful on her and the simplicity of her outfit doesn't distract our eyes from her true beauty.



2. BIG SEAN

Sean clearly took notes from Kanye on the idea of mixing fashion with hip hop. Sean rocked a bright blue blazer and mixed it with black pants and a graphic tee with gold chains. This new swag is a total mix of hip hop, skater boy, metrosexual, and rocker. HOT!



1. NIA LONG

Fresh on the heels of her baby announcement Nia Long absolutely glowed at the awards show! Her white sheath dress and platinum heels were a perfect contrast with her bronze skin. She kept the accessories simple and let her beauty do the rest. This clean, simple, and bright look is what the other celebs should take note on.

So there you have it! The top 5 looks of the BET Awards. Definitely lackluster but all the usual showstoppers (i.e. Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye, Jay-Z, etc) were not there to make everyone step their game up.
