The movie “Jumping The Broom” did better then expected this weekend with an opening of over $13.7 million!!!!! The movie was projected to to earn between $8-10 Million.
As an comparison, the weekend’s other PG-13 rated romantic comedy, the bigger-budgeted “Something Borrowed,” starring Kate Hudson, made nearly the same amount ($13.2 million), but “Jumping the Broom” showed in 869 fewer locations for a far superior per-theater average (the third best of the weekend behind “Thor” and “Fast Five”).
We are letting the movie bosses know that African-American films ARE be successful! And...We do support out own!!!!
