Today is WORLD AIDS Day

AIDS has developed a stigma of being a disease that only gay people or drug-addicts get, but it's important to remember that anybody can get it.

So many of us, especially those of us in urban communities, have been affected by AIDS either by witnessing a loved one endure it, fearing it in the bedroom, or maybe even having it ourselves.

The most important thing is to educate yourself and educate the other members of your community about what AIDS is and how it can be prevented (PLEASE READ: Safe sex!). Also, please remember that if someone gets AIDS it doesn't make them a leper and it is NOT an immediate death sentence.

Don't be ashamed or embarassed to talk about it. Please get tested, be faithful to a single sexual partner, and use a condom. It could be the difference between life and death!
