SCANDAL: YouTube Cancels Billions of Video Views
Youtube has reduced billions of views after discovering that record labels were creating "fake views" to promote the ratings of their own videos. Major companies like Universal and Sony were hit the hardest, losing almost a billion views each.
This caused an extreme dip in total views for these companies and it affected artists like Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and Alicia Keys.
YouTube has a strict policy regarding the view count policy. After an audit found these groups to be violating the policy with their artificially inflated views, the videos were immediately taken down.
Props to YouTube for being consistent and holding major corporations to the same standards!
