Laurence Fishburne, Taraji Henson and Idris Elba have all been nominated for Emmys this year. Laurence for his role as Thurgood Marshall in the HBO movie, "Thurgood", Idris for his role as detective John Luther in the BBC series, “Luther” and Taraji P. Henson for her role as Tiffany Rubin in the Lifetime movie “Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.” No African American actors were nominated for any sitcoms or dramas.
