SCANDAL...Lupe Fiasco says "Nothin On You" Was Originally HIS SONG!!!
So get this...you know that song by B.O.B. and Bruno Mars called "Nothin On You"? Well Lupe Fiasco is saying that used to be HIS SONG and was supposed to be on his album.
Lupe has been very outspoken about how much he HATES his 3rd album Laser and has fought with his record label over its content.
Lupe Fiasco says that he contemplated suicide when his record label Atlantic Records told him that his verses for "Nothing On You" were wack and needed to be replaced.
When the chairman of Atlantic criticized his music Lupe says: "That was the tipping point. It was less about the bruised ego but more the audacity of it. It was mentally destructive [...] I was super-depressed, lightly suicidal, at moments medium suicidal – and if not suicidal, willing to just walk away from it all completely.”
WOW! We knew Lupe was unhappy, but we had NO IDEA he was so miserable.
