Music Mogul L.A. Reid is set to leave his position as chairman of the Island Def Jam Music Group to become a judge on Simon Cowell’s upcoming talent competition,
X-Factor.

The Hollywood Reporter, L.A. Reid is being released from his contract with Island Def Jam early so that he can take the new job on the show. Former Universal Music Group (which owns IDJ) chairman Doug Morris’ moved to Sony, and
The Hollywood Reporter says that Reid is expected to follow Morris to Sony.
