According to Variety, Willow "Whip My Hair" Smith maybe starring in the remake of "Annie". Her dad, Will Smith would produce the movie through his company Overbrook Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures.
Jay-Z sampled the musical’s theme song on his 1998 hit "Hard Knock Life" so he’s been approached about handling musical duties.
The film is still currently in development
It would be nice to see a African American girl play this iconic character!
