R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan has barely gotten a chance to experience fame and she's already sick of it. Yesterday she tweeted:
"i promised myself when it wasn't fun anymore i wouldn't do it. and here i am. i love u all and appreciate u soooooo much. u have no idea how much u've inspired me and fed my ego but the truth is that i have to believe in me whether you all do or not. and thats what i'm lookin for. that belief in myself. me. i love us. thanks for being here for me and riding with me on this journey. let us continue."
She took the tweet down a little while later, but the damage had already been done!
Where is all this coming from??? Maybe it's because her recently released album Love Me Back only received a luke warm response debuting at #17 on the Billboard Top 100. A typical case of the sophomore curse.
Or maybe it's because, despite Jazmine's undeniable singing and songwriting talent, she's not as commercially popular as her label would like. She's definitely not a Beyonce cookie-cutter type.
Well whatever the case, we hope Jazmine is able to push through it. Industry pressures can be tough. We would hate to see such good talent go to waste like that!!!
