Malcolm X's Daughter Sentenced to Probation for Identity Theft

Malikah Shabazz, the youngest of Malcolm X's children, was recently sentenced to five years' probation for stealing the identity of Khaula Bakr, the widow of one of her father's bodyguards.

Malikah was charged with acquiring a total of $55, 884.28 in debt under Khaula's name, she plead guilty.

An arrest warrant was first issued in June 2010, Malikah was extradited from North Carolina where she was living with her daughter. She was ultimately arrested in February 2011 but was not convicted until yesterday. During the waiting period she was held for $100,000 bond.

While being escorted out of the court room Malikah nonchalantly remarked, "I haven't been to New York since 1999." Wow, no remorse!

What a terrible way to follow her parents' legacy. Malikah's lucky she only got probation!
